What to expect
X-Rays have been used for over 100 years to assist medical practitioners with diagnosing a wide range of illnesses and injuries. They are painless, quick and safe. At Connect Radiology our team of Radiographers are highly trained and will guide you through the process.
- Please bring your referral form with you and allow 10-20 minutes for the imaging to be completed.
- You will be asked to remove any jewellery, or metal/plastic items that cover the examination area. This includes clothing with zips and buttons. A gown will be provided if needed.
- The X-Ray will be performed with you either standing, sitting, or lying on the examination table, depending on the area being imaged.
- 2-3 images are commonly taken, each from a different angle, to provide your healthcare professional with insights they need.
- If there is a possibility that you may be pregnant, please inform your healthcare professional and radiographer before you begin. They may suggest an ultrasound as an alternative.
- Following your X-Ray, your images will be shared with a team of expert Radiologists at the IDX group, who will provide a written report to your healthcare professional within the hour. Simply follow your healthcare professional’s advice while you wait for the results.
